A Best of Costa Rica representative will greet you at the airport and provide transportation to the Marriott Courtyard, conveniently located East of downtown San Jose in the vibrant and upscale town of Escazu .

Day 2 White Water Pacuare Adventure/Rios Tropicales Lodge
A Rios Tropicales shuttle will provide transportation from the hotel to the Pacuare River for an exciting world-class rafting adventure. Glide over the white rapids that cut through long swaths of pristine jungle and abundant wildlife. Pacuare rewards its visitors with awe-inspiring views and unforgettable memories. Overnight stay at the spectacular Rios Tropicales Lodge for intimate, rustic-style accommodations in the heart of the rainforest and overlooking the banks of the Pacuare River . Day 3 Pacuare River/Marriott Courtyard
Following a hearty breakfast, enjoy the second part of your white-water adventure through more rapids and breathtaking waterfalls. Upon completion, the Rios Tropicales Shuttle will drive you to the familiar Marriott Courtyard for a late afternoon arrival to San Jose .

Day 5 Zip Line Adventure / Punta Islita 
Soar over the breathtaking canyon as you safely zip from platform to platform through a setup of steel cables, climbing gear, and harnesses.  You may even spot a monkey or two as you glide over the canopy canvass!  Their experienced guides are fully trained and will assist you throughout the tour to ensure your safety.

Day 6 River Kayaking Eco Safari / Punta Islita
Meander through a pristine tract of exciting tropical forest over the gentle waters of the Ora River. This family-friendly guided paddling adventure begins with a 20 minute ride in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser. Venturing into the unspoiled heart of the forest, you proceed to a secluded riverbank for a safety briefing and kayak drop-in. The river will steer you through a mesmerizing environment home to giant Ceiba trees, Roseate Spoonbills, and countless exotic animal and plant species.

Day 7 Punta Islita
*Suggested activities: Time to pamper yourself with a day of perfect relaxation…The ocean can provide a unique backdrop for a full-body massage or a luxurious facial with tropical herbs. Relax by the pool, sip a cocktail, or just lounge in a hammock. As a crowning moment of perhaps the most soothing day of your life, request the beach-side private dinner. Punta Islita’s Staff will set up a table shrouded by the beautiful shoreline vegetation. You will bask in the soft glow of the moon and the warm flicker of torches as the ocean surf serenades you. Day 8 Return to San Jose/Marriott Courtyard
Fly back to San Jose . A transfer guide will drive you to the Marriott Courtyard Hotel where you can lounge by the pool or venture downtown for souvenir shopping and urban sightseeing.

Day 1 Arrival to San Jose / Hotel Grano de Oro
A transfer from Best of Costa Rica will provide transportation from the airport to Hotel Grano de Oro. A converted Tropical Victorian mansion, this hotel features the warmth and comfort of a private home. Its charming atrium terrace and corridors are lined by sparkling fountains and lush tropical plants. The rooftop deck offers a soothing Jacuzzi and chaise longues for secluded sunbathing.

Day 2 Kayaking through Tortuguero / Mawamba Lodge
Your day begins bright and early when you board the Mawamba Lodge Shuttle to begin your unforgettable Tortuguero Canals Discovery Adventure on the Caribbean Coast . A bilingual guide will provide interesting information and answer your questions along the drive across the lush Braulio Carrillo Rainforest and the extensive banana plantations until reaching the starting point in Guapiles. The kayak drop-in takes place right at the outskirts of the National Park in the Tortuguero River . The exuberant network of water canals are teeming with exotic flora and fauna including the endangered Great Green Macaw, White-Faced monkeys, and Green Sea Turtles. Lunch will be served right on the riverbank. Late afternoon arrival at Mawamba Lodge.

Accessible only by water, Mawamba Lodge is rustic but comfortable and is located just five minutes away from the National Park's entrance. In addition to the exciting surroundings, the lodge offers a beautiful swimming pool, delicious buffet meals, and spacious rooms.

Day 3 Kayaking through Tortuguero National Park / Mawamba Lodge
After a hearty breakfast you will explore Tortuguero’s breathtaking lagoons. Your 3 to 4 hours expedition begins at Laguna Samay. The magical entrance to Laguna Nueve and a visit to the beach will be some of the day's highlights. Crystalline waters and total solitude will make this a truly enchanting experience. Lunch is served on site. Overnight stay at Mawamba Lodge.

Day 4 Fly back to San Jose/Private transfer to Trogon Lodge
The Mawamba Shuttle will take you to the Tortuguero airstrip where you will board a flight back to San Jose . Once in San Jose a private transfer from Best of Costa Rica will take you on the two hour drive to Trogon Lodge . At an altitude of 7000 ft. above sea level, Trogon is surrounded by the unspoiled ecology of the area and is trimmed by the beautiful Savegre River , host to large schools of Rainbow Trout . The sound of the churning waters guarantees a heavenly slumber! Suggested activities: A brief hiking trip is the perfect way to explore the property and nearby biological reservation.

Day 5 Canopy Adventure / Trogon Lodge
Located along primary and secondary Cloud Forest, the platforms are situated in the midst of the Trogon’s private grounds. Steel cables and equipment meet the highest standards of quality and the top of the line gear includes both waist and chest harnesses, helmets and gloves. After a short walk along a private trail to the first platform, located on ground level, participants receive a safety briefing by our guides. The five platforms are linked by zip lines and each provides a unique opportunity to experience “flight”. The longest is over 200 ft. long and crosses right over the Savegre River . Make sure you bring a camera!

Day 6 Horseback and Hiking Trek / Trogon Lodge
The perfect combination of riding and hiking to the nearby waterfall. Stunning tropical flowers, misty forest, and a chance to spot the spectacularly brilliant Quetzal bird make this an exciting and unforgettable eco-adventure.
